The Great Decoupling: Narrative vs. Objective
The Great Decoupling
The primary failure of traditional history is the fusion of Fact and Narrative.
In most historical records, the “What happened” is inseparable from the “Why it matters to us.” This fusion is where propaganda is born.
The Narrative Trap
A Narrative is a story we tell ourselves to feel a certain way about the past.
- It creates “Heroes” and “Villains.”
- It creates “Golden Ages” and “Dark Ages.”
- It is a tool for social cohesion, but it is an enemy of the Truth.
The Objective Derivation
To move forward, we must decouple the two.
- The Record: An objective sequence of events, verified by primary evidence.
- The Interpretation: A secondary layer that acknowledges its own bias.
The goal of this Wiki is to provide a platform where the Record is treated as a protocol, and Narratives are identified as external metadata, not the core data itself.
First Principles: Decoupling and Detection.
